Products, products, PRODUCTS - EVERYONE IS SELLING SKIN CARE PRODUCTS, so why on Earth should you try ONE MORE LINE?
Well, to be up front about it, it's because of me and my 30+ years of experience and professional licensure. And it's because of our relationship and because you know that I've chosen what I think is best for your skin.
And ... because it's PERSONAL. I'm not "selling" you a line (no pun intended!). I am not working my way toward a big, pink Cadillac, or trying to keep up my minimums so I won't get fired. A word about the 'other' products that your doc or neighbor or sales girl or famous celebrity - and even some professional salons are selling - THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHAT THEY ARE SELLING TO YOU. Let me repeat that. Even when I sold a name brand line (dermalogica, for over 17 years!), I had zero input into what came down the pike for me to pass on to my clients. I trusted dermalogica (back then, not anymore, but that's another story) and so whenever they came out with a new product, I bought my 6 minimum and began recommending it. Some products worked better than others. But I had no control or say into which products I had access to. I think that is a crucial difference. With Vantastic SKIN you are getting me in a jar. So all of these American companies who say they are "cruelty-free" just might not be telling the whole truth if they also sell to China. Vantastic SKIN is sold at Vanities - in America. No animal testing allowed here. (Unless you count ME - I am the animal I test the products on!)
Picture #2 - Plant ingredients. I love the science behind plant ingredients. I can't say that we are "chemical-free" because that is ludicrous; since everything in the universe is made from "chemicals" unless it's light or electricity. Vantastic SKIN uses the latest technology in plant-based ingredients - AND - takes advantage of all the scientific breakthroughs that, frankly are getting to mind-blowing levels (too much to go into here). Look for licorice, rosemary, carob seed, lemon, orange; and vitamins c & e which are legendary in skin repair.

And what's missing from this short list? Oh ... parabens, sodium lauryl and laureth sulfates, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, lanolin,

How good can your skin look?
We've come a long way from our mamma's cold cream!
The advances I've seen in skin care technology are astounding! We've come a LONG way from the "cold cream" days. Now we actually have a product that stimulates our own STEM-CELLS to achieve younger-looking skin! It's crazy. But it's true.
So how does a woman fight her way through the product jungle? How does she keep up with the rapid pace when looking for products that actually work?
Have no fear ... that's why I am here!
You don't have to scour through the thousands of products on the market today buying and trying, hoping to find the exact combination that will give you "Vantastic SKIN"!
Vantastic SKIN care products are what I use on you during your facial, and what I hand-select for your home care. Treatments are great, but it's what you do on a daily basis that will maintain those gorgeous professional results!
Each product is designed to bring your skin into a beautiful state of balance.
The importance of layering.
Don't we all hope for the miracle in a jar? Until that day comes, we must separate into bottles all of the miracles we now have in skin care (and they are impressive!). So you will find a bottle that is filled with cleanser, one with a scrub to clean a little deeper and prepare the skin for the serums to come. Then come the magical serums that work their magic to support, heal, and change the skin. Then we want to seal in all that goodness and create a protective barrier with a moisturizer suited for our skin type - or what our skin is going through at the time: lighter in the summer perhaps, and more emollient during the dry winter months. Then last, but not least is SUNSCREEN! This is one of the stars of the skin care family. Not only does it keep your skin from turning red and peeling, but it is the first line of defense in the war against WRINKLES! Maybe instead of calling it "Sun Protection Factor", or "Sunscreen", we should call it DAILY WRINKLE DEFENSE!
Ideally, we all should be wearing sunscreen everyday - especially on our face, neck and hands (and all areas exposed to the sun). However, ideal isn't always realistic. So here's a HOT TIP :: If you are wearing SUN GLASSES --- wear SUN SCREEN!
Why there isn't SPF in the moisturizers.
As I mentioned above there isn't a one-bottle-fits-all. Did I hear you say "BB Cream"? There is a reason why I don't sell a BB Cream (or use one). You want each product to work to it's maximum, not water down the effectiveness to try and fit it all into one bottle.
There are several reasons why you won't find an SPF number on your Vantastic SKIN moisturizer. The primary reason is that you must apply a certain amount of sunscreen to achieve the protection listed as the SPF number. I will tell you that most people don't apply nearly enough. And that is also why mineral makeups (powder or liquid) don't provide enough protection.
Sunscreens are classified as drugs by the FDA. Moisturizers are not drugs.
Why would you wear a sunscreen to bed? We don't need an SPF to moisturize - especially at night. (Even though my SPF can substitute for a moisturizer, if it fits what your skin needs that day.)
This is why we layer ... serum ... moisturizer ... sunscreen. You get the maximum benefits from each product, and your skin gets the protection it needs.
Why do we say to use product twice a day?
In the morning you may think there is nothing to wash off your face, but, in fact, it's during the nighttime when your skin is working it's hardest. As you sleep, your skin takes this opportunity to repair and rejuvenate itself - getting the house in order for the big day approaching. During the daylight hours it's in defense mode - guarding you from invaders and sunlight. When you come home, before bed usually, is when we recommend washing off the day's assaults and preparing the skin with rejuvenating or correcting products and tucking it in with a good moisturizer. When you wake up, before you leave home to face car exhaust, UV radiation, dirt, smog, pollen and flying debris, you need to wash off what your face excretes during the night and prepare it for battle with the proper products and an SPF 30. Now you are ready to face the day!
What you will receive from all Vantastic SKIN products:

- Anti-inflammatory ingredients - because inflammation is the root of ALL skin problems
- Bio-effective products. What does that mean? If an ingredient is proven to work at 3%, we use 3%. There is no law stating companies must do this. In fact, it is common for most to use just a tiny fraction of an active ingredient, and still be able to claim that it is in their product. But will you achieve the results that the ad promises? No. To get the results that the ingredient manufacturer tested - the formula must use the percentage that was tested and proven. We do this!
- Fragile ingredients, like Vitamin C, are stabilized to make sure the product retains its potency from the bottle to the skin. This ensures you are putting onto your skin a safe product that didn't lose potency.
What you WON'T find in any Vantastic SKIN products:
- Animal testing (FYI - ANY cosmetic sold in China MUST be tested on animals! - think L'Oreal, Estee Lauder, Google for the list.)
- Synthetic fragrances (I prefer the scent of the original plant!)
- SLS and SLES - sodium laurel and laureth sulfates (foaming agents that create a lot of bubbles, but also strip the skin of it's natural, protective oils/barrier).
- Parabens (but not because of the internet scare - because of "lake and stream" leakage which is toxic to the foundation of our living Earth, and ultimately us.)
- Comedogenic ingredients (nothing to cause a breakout)
- Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives (they are known to cause skin sensitivity.) They appear on a label as:
Imidazolidinyl urea
Diazolidinyl urea
Quaternium-15
Bronopol
5-Bromo-5-nitro-1,3-dioxane
Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate
Why don't I sell online?
I don't sell online because I want to see your skin first so I can hand-select the products that are right for you. You don't have to face the product jungle alone anymore!

There are NO HARSH INGREDIENTS so every product is ideally suited to even the most sensitive skin.

My Current "Regimen":
If you're like me, you don't want to spend an hour a day going thru your skin care routine. I want results, but it has to be quick. Here is what I've been doing on a pretty regular schedule:
In the shower, I will cleanse with my cleanser. Every other day I will exfoliate with the foaming scrub. Some days I cleanse first and exfoliate after, other days I may skip the cleanser and just use the foaming scrub.
When I get out of the shower, while my skin is still damp, I will put on a serum ...
I will let the serum settle in for a minute or so, but before it dries completely, I will seal in all those wonderful ingredients with a moisturizer and my SPF 30. For my skin, I have found the SPF 30 is enough hydration for the summer months. In the winter, I need more, so I put the moisturizer on and follow with SPF.
Before bed (pre-sleep when your skin rejuvenates itself the most), I may cleanse, or because I don't wear foundation or powder, I might just take a warm washcloth and wipe off the day's residue before putting on my serums, and then the moisturizer.
And that's it! VERY QUICK.
I am confident that I am doing the very best for my skin on a daily basis. AND, I see the Vantastic Results from it!
Of course, as we all might do, I occasionally slip up and get off course, but the mirror tells me when I need to pay more attention to my skin and I get back to this routine.
It feels really great to take good care of my skin!

BLOG POST FEB 2016 - I've had some experiences lately that have caused me to think ...How the heck is a customer to tell the difference between an Esthetician who works at the Marriott and ME? We both have plush, warm beds, we both have nice smelling and feeling creams, and we both have calming music and low lighting. We are both licensed by the State of Kentucky and have passed our exams. So what sets us apart?
I don't have any initials after my name, designating me as having a doctorate of any specialty, so how does the person who seeks a facial know that I have a library of skin care books, magazines, videos and class materials that I've been collecting for decades? How are they to know the many classes that I have taken - everything from Chinese Acupressure to LaStone Therapy Massage - all because I have a seeking mind and not because I needed my 'continuing education' from my state board? I do what I do because of my PASSION to help people - to FIND SOLUTIONS to problems.
I don't "sell" products. In fact, during the beginning of the professional skin care movement, most new estheticians, who are naturally shy, didn't want to sell products, they much preferred to be in the back room "doing facials". But Jane - my mentor from dermalogica - taught us a different philosophy, and it is one that has stuck with me. She said, "If you are giving a client the best facial possible and NOT sending them home with products they will use daily until they see you again, you are doing them a disservice."
And she was right! What I do in the treatment room IS magical. But that's just the beginning of the story. That is why I take my recommendations and product selections so seriously. I'm not selling you a product - I'm sending you home with a little piece of ME directly from that magical treatment room, putting that magic into your hands until I see you again.
